Ogden's union station
If you like historic trains and museums, Ogden's Union Station is the place to visit. Originally built in 1869 the union station served as a passenger hub for many years before being turned into museums in the 1970s.
The station building now houses the Utah State Railroad Museum, John M.
Browning Firearms Museum, The Browning-Kimball Classic Car Museum, the
Western Heritage and Utah Cowboy Museum, Union Grill, and a library and
archives. It plays host to various conventions and events, including the
annual Hostlers Model Railroad Festival, weddings, Ogden Marathon Expo,
craft and bridal fairs.

Of special note: The Golden Spike Chapter of the Railway &
Locomotive Historical Society has taken on the effort of restoring,
Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad steam locomotive #223 to an
operational engine.
The restoration shops are
located in the Trainmen’s Building of the historic Ogden Union Station
in Ogden, UT. Work sessions are held there every Saturday morning
starting at approximately 9:30 AM through early afternoon. Access the
shops by driving to the North end of Union Station at 26th Street along
the driveway between the building and Track 1 at the rear of the
facility.
This is something you will not want to miss.
