Spooky activities for the month of October
There are some spooky events going on throughout the month of October most of them just a short drive down the mountain from us in the city of Ogden.
October 9th and 10th 5pm - Creatures of the night exibit
The Ogden Nature Center presents Creatures of the Night - a not-so-scary Halloween event for the whole family.
- - Learn about native nocturnal creatures like owls, spiders, and bats.
- - Take a crepuscular creep around the nature preserve where you'll meet and learn from some "wild" characters.
- - Find your way through the Spider Web Crawl and visit the Hilarious House of Hoots.
- - Food vendors, carnival games, treats, music, and educational fun.
- No RSVP necessary. Costumes welcome! Please dress for the weather/held rain or shine. Flashlights recommended.
Martian ( & other aliens) costume contest
Telescopes for stargazing provided by the Ogden Astronomical Society
Food & beverages available in Needles Lodge and on the patio
FREE for all active season pass holders
Gondola Tickets are Adults $10 Kids 11 & under $5

October 14th 6:30 pm - Scariest stories ever told: Frankenstein at the Eccles community art center
Discuss and view the scariest stories ever told with Susan M Young at the Eccles Community Art Center, 2580 Jefferson Avenue, Ogden. On October 14th, "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelly the original tale will be compared after the viewing of "Frankenstein" directed by Kenneth Branagh and actor Robert deNiro rated R. Begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $20, Couples: $30. Space is limited, please pre-register with the ECAC staff at 801-392-6935.
October 15th 6:30 pm - Ogden Trails Halloween Ride
Bring your whole family for a SPOOKTACULAR TIME!
Ride begins and ends at the Ogden Botanical Gardens, with a spooky ride down the River Parkway and through Dinosaur Park.
Costumes highly encouraged, donuts and drinks provided at finish!!
October 16th & 17th, 23rd & 24th 7pm - Night at the Museum paranormal tours at the Ogden Union Station

A FUNDRAISER FOR THE UNION STATION FOUNDATION
NEW TOUR ADDED | Select from two tours. The Northern Tour is similar to the tours in the past and will include investigations of the Utah State Railroad Museum, Browning Theater, and the northern basement. The Southern Tour is a new route and will investigate the Old Timers room on the second floor, the southern basement area, and inside some of the train cars.
Cost is $20 per person

October 24th 7pm - 2015 Skating Spooktakulrarol
Wasatch Figure Skating Club presents the
2015 Skating Spooktacular. Get into the spirit
of Halloween with this fun ice skating show.
Skate with the stars after the show for $1.00
or come dressed in costume and skate for free.

October 29th 5:30pm - 20th annual pumpkin alley at the Golden Spike Arena Exhibit Hall
FREE ADMISSION! FREE TREATS!
Come out and see a large display of pumpkins that have been carved and decorated by local students, groups and individuals. Costumes are encouraged but not required. If you'd like to put a pumpkin on display, please bring it to the Parks and Recreation Office before 4PM on October 29.
October 30th & 31st 8pm - Rocky Horror Picture Show at Peery's Egyptian Theater
Let's do the Time Warp again!
Peery's Egyptian Theater presents "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". Come celebrate with us the 40th Anniversary of this cult classic. Dance, sing, and toast to fling. Prop bags are included for the full Rocky experience. There will be pre-show entertainment and costumes are encouraged.
Seating is Reserved this year, so plan ahead and buy your tickets early. Last year we sold out!
It's the weird and wonderful as newly engaged couple Brad and Janet encounter a problem when they car halts in the rain. They both look for contact only to find themselves at the castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter a transvestite. A place to stay is offered, but will Brad and Janet want to remain there? Especially when a large group of Transylvanians dance to the 'Time Warp', Dr. Frank-N-Furter builds his own man and a whole host of participation for the audience to enjoy.
